Wheel Throwing: 4 week (Evening or weekend)
Learn the foundation of throwing on the wheel in these 2 hour sessions held over 4 weeks. No experience is necessary as we will be covering the basics on how to prepare the clay right through to trimming and glazing the finished pieces. Classes will be intimate with only 3 participates for dedicated guidance.
~ Week 1 & 2: We will look at correct set-up, tools required and preparing and centring clay on the wheel. You will then be guided on how to create basic forms. Week one will focus more on technique with week 2 giving more time to perfect these skills.
~ Week 3: In the third session we will refine the pieces made in the first two weeks by trimming the excess clay off them, adding foot rings, handles or surface texture.
~ Week 4: Your pieces will be bisque fired and ready for the final week to be glazed by brushing, dipping or pouring glaze on the porous pieces.
Pieces will be left in studio for their glaze firing to 1200°c and ready for collection in approx. 4 weeks.

Not to worry, items can be posted via An Post Parcel for 10 euro.
